Parking reservations for Landmannalaugar 2025 are now open

We’ve opened parking reservations for the 2025 season in Landmannalaugar. If you’re visiting Landmannalaugar between June 20 and September 14, a reservation is required for all private vehicles arriving between 9 AM – 4 PM.

Why do I need a reservation?

Landmannalaugar is one of Iceland’s most popular destinations in the higlands, and during peak hours, parking demand exceeds capacity. To reduce congestion and improve access, a reservation system has been implemented to manage vehicle flow and ensure a better experience for all visitors.

How does the system work?

• Reserve in Advance: Book your parking spot online before arriving to guarantee access.
• Limited Availability: A reservation guarantees access during peak hours
• Automatic Check-In: A camera system registers license plates upon arrival. However, prepared to show your reservation to a ranger once arriving.

If you arrive before 9 AM or after 4 PM, you do not need a reservation. However, the same service fee applies 24/7 to all vehicles entering Landmannalaugar. You can pay the fee on-site through an app or payment portal.
